What to do and see in this town and its surroundings?
Once there, you are ideally established to enjoy all the astonishing landscapes typical of Martinique. Between sea and mountain, nothing is missing!
Pointe Faula in particular is one of the island's must-see sites with its white sand beach bordered by palm trees and turquoise waters. It is also a great spot for nautical activities like kitesurfing or wakeboarding.
If you are more into relaxation sports, you can also try kayaking, catamaran sailing or simply explore the marine life with your mask and snorkel. We particularly recommend that you try your hand at the transparent canoe from the Vauclin!
For lovers of the great outdoors, discover the Vauclin loop. It is a 7 km hike, possible in three hours and with the family to admire the Martinican landscapes. You will pass by fabulous wild beaches with dry areas passing by the mangrove and the white sand beaches. It is at the bend of this hike that you will have the opportunity to go to the pig hole. A peaceful bay where it is good to swim to cool off before hitting the road.
The Vauclin mountain, about fifteen minutes by car, is also one of the essentials. Once at the top, you will have plenty of time to admire a fabulous panorama of the entire south coast of Martinique and the islets of François! For an excursion off the beaten track, discover the mountain garden, a true haven of peace where hummingbirds pose and where orchids, cocoa trees, porcelain roses and other local essences blend in harmony.
For families with young children, the Lion’s park, 10 minutes from Pointe Faula inland, offers a pleasant setting with many activities: bouncy castle, tree climbing course, swings, trampoline. On the way to François, the village of Yesteryear will amaze young and old, a true immersion in the great outdoors. Let yourself be guided by the passionate owner of the place who will pass on to you her love of plants and trees.
Finally, in the area of the small and large Anse Macabou, is the ranch of Anse Macabou which offers beautiful horse riding by the sea. Note that Anses Macabou are also the starting point of the hiking trail of the capes. This 27kms hike follows the coast and ends at the beaches of Sainte-Anne. Difficult to do in one go, we recommend rather cutting it into several sections.
