The town of Vauclin can be found on the Atlantic coast of Martinique. One of the most well-known spots in this small fishing village is Faula Point. This beach, lined with restaurants, is well known, too, as one of the island’s water-sport spots where you can take beginning kite surfing classes. Protected by a coral reef, this beach is very windy to the delight of many kite surfers and you can walk or swim way out to the sand bars. On he way back, stop by the fish market on the side of the road back towards town.
Other places to visit in Vauclin are the beaches of Petit and Grand (small and big) Macabou. You’ll need some patience on the long, rocky road to the beach, but the privacy and quietness makes it worth it! In this same area, two equestrian centers offer beautiful beach walks on horseback. Finally, get up high and try the Vauclin mountain’s hiking trail. You will be rewarded by a fantastic panaromic view of all the southeast coast and the little islands of François.
