At the end of a cul-de-sac in Case Pilote, a peaceful town on the northern Caribbean coast, you'll discover Villa Paradise Bay. An interesting fact— the owners of this little corner of paradise were able to name their street. They didn't hesitate a second before naming it "Chapeau L'Évêque" (Bishop's Hat) to underline the presence of trees of the same name whose fruit resembles the square cap worn by priests. Immobile spectators, these green giants, which can reach up to 20 meters, watched as the villa was renovated over the years. A parade of tortoises can also be observed as they return each year to lay their eggs on the beach. If you travel between the months of June and October, you'll be able to take in this magical sight!
Now it's time to set the stage for your future vacation… first, imagine a villa lined with pebbles tucked inside a tropical garden where palm trees, cacti, coconut trees, frangipani trees and bougainvillea stand side by side. Just twenty steps from the house, a black sand beach…and the sea, transparent, inviting you in for a swim. Thanks to a large terrace built into the extension to the house, you can take a nap on the comfortable wicker garden furniture. Passionate about decoration, the owner, who lived apart of her childhood in Morocco, has brought back many decorative objects from her travels and arranged them with style: teak wood chairs from Trinidad, a wooden rocking chair from Cuba, and a pedestal table covered with smooth tadelakt plaster, kilim cushions and wrought iron lanterns from her native Morocco. A large table, ideal for outdoor dining, adds the finishing touch to this harmonious decor.
The Khamsa, representing the protective Hand of Fatima, watches over the villaand invites its guests to discover the cozy interior. In the kitchen, glazed tiles from Fez together with wood lattice cabinet doors lend a Middle Eastern charm to this room where you'll enjoy preparing your meals helped by numerous cookbooks and kitchen utensils. The living room and the dining room, adjacent to the kitchen, offer a beautiful partitionless living space where soft light comes through the picture windows. Linen curtains, an antique Italian pedestal table, Cuban paintings —a marriage of textures and colors creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
If you're a fan of comic books, the shelves lining the hall leading to the bedrooms will delight you—they're full of comic books, photos, and antique vases. During your vacation, you can immerse yourself in the world of Tramp, Cycle de Cyan, and many other collections. The first bedroom is an air conditioned master suite. Decorated in shades of violet and anise green, you'll enjoy comfortable nights of sleep in a double bed, cradled by the gentle sound of the waves. A large adjacent bathroom with a shower and bathtub completes the picture.
Decorative objects in the cream-colored second bedroom invite you to travel —on the wall, a Vida Verba painting depicting a Tuareg, statues from Benin on the shelves, a collection of antique pipes, pebbles and shells… Air conditioned with a double bed, the bedroom offers an unobstructed view of the garden. Finally, the last bedroom, with its white walls brightened with citrus-inspired colors, is perfect for the children thanks to its pull-out bed and baskets brimming with toys and books. The owner can also provide twin beds if that is preferable. These two bedrooms share access to a sky blue bathroom, completely renovated and whose pebble-tiled shower is just another reminder of the proximity to the beach… You'll quickly come to the conclusion that this villa has a most appropriate name, and you'll want time to stop so that you'll never have to leave this little corner of paradise.
